Vision Plan Presented: The Future Starts Now

After eight months of community consultation, involving over 800 residents, the Vision Plan Steering Committee presented the Vision Plan to Council on June 20th, 2007. This Plan describes, in words and images, what the community seeks to become – how it will look, how it will function, how it will be different and better 20 to 25 years from now. Most residents expressed a desire for change, for doing things differently than they have been done in the past.

The Vision is not a blueprint to be followed exactly, but a direction guide that shows the ideas that were supported. It should remain open to new ideas. The document also includes suggestions for an ambitious implementation plan. Council has referred the Plan to staff for review and for recommendations regarding implementation later this year.

The different sections of the vision can be downloaded below. Also you can view the document at the municipal hall, paper copies are available in our office, a black and white one for free and a colour version can be ordered for $10.
