Burning Regulations

Backyard burning is prohibited in the District of Sechelt. For more information please see bylaw 446, 2005.

Residents are reminded that there is no charge for disposal of yard and garden waste at the Sechelt Landfill site, operated by the Sunshine Coast Regional District.

Sechelt does not regulate land clearing burns, but does encourage those clearing lands to consider option such as chipping, composting or use of commercial disposal services for the disposal of land clearing debris.
