Proclamations

Proclamations officially recognize a day, week, month or year dedicated to a specific cause in the District of Sechelt, (i.e., BC Rivers Day, Guide and Scout Week, Heart Month, or International Year of the Volunteer). Requests for proclamations should be submitted in writing, to the Municipal Clerk at least one month prior to the requested date. Requests for proclamations will be classified into the following categories:

• Local Involvement \ Fund-raising: ie: National Nurses Week, Volunteer Week, Multiple Sclerosis Carnation Campaign, White Cane Week
• Non-profit, Non-Government Organization or Senior Government
• Social Issues
• Politically important

Proclamations are officially announced at Regular Council Meetings and a signed copy of the proclamation is displayed on the Municipal Notice Board immediately prior to and during the time frame.
